You wouldn't have guessed it, but video games are serious business to Zuffa and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Both Sherdog and Yahoo! Sports are reporting that the UFC has cut top welterweight fighter Jon Fitch and heavyweight Christian Wellisch over a contract dispute relating to the upcoming UFC video game developed by THQ.
Here's something new: A weekly indie game update! Every week I, Joshua Coffey, will post all news of any in-development indie games I find. As we all know, the Nintendo Wii recently released their workout game Wii Fit, which allows players to chose a workout best suited for them; yet at the same time Nintendo tries not bore the player with simple workouts by adding mini-games in between the workouts.. That being said, EA has just announced that they will be releasing EA Sports Active which will come out in Spring of 2009.

2K Games just announced that the NL Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giant's has been signed on as the face of 2Ks next installment of Major League Baseball 2K9.
Lincecum went 18-5 with 265 strikeouts and a 2.62 ERA. His performance is one of the few bright lights of the San Fran Giants especially after the whole Barry Bonds situation for the last few years. He won the Cy Young over Brandon Webb of the Zona D-backs who was the year's favorite.
When news of a next-gen Ghostbusters game, written and directed by the dream team of Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd, hit the web - fan boys the world over swooned. Likewise, after the Activision-Blizzard merger left a number of games dead or without homes, fan boys the world over cried out in shrill agony. It was feared that the ultra hyped game might never see the light of day. Well for all you die hard 'Buster fans, I know I'm not alone, the game has finally found a safe haven, Texas based developer Terminal Reality.
"Ultimate Genesis Collection" - Reliving the Glory Days

Sega has had some tough going in the video game industry over the years. Now known primarily as a third party developer, there was a time when Sega made a strong bid as the dominant name in all of gaming, rivaling Nintendo as the ultimate name in video games. This all took place in what I consider the glory days of video games, the sprite-filled splendor of the 16-bit era.
Sega, determined to not let the legacy of their multi-million selling 16-bit system the Sega Genesis die (or at least make a few quick bucks in its memory), has recently announced the upcoming release of a new compilation of Genesis games for the PS3 and XBox360.

EA announced that presidential hopeful (more like lock) Barack Obama and smokin' hot vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will appear as playable characters in Mercenaries 2. Don't bother checking your calendar: April's still another 6 months away.
Look for the skins in EA's Mercenaries 2 DLC update this November. For now, check out the video of Obama and Palin cracking skulls after the jump.
I was lucky enough to catch an interview with Jeff Rosen, from Wolfire Games, and he was kind enough to answer these questions. Wolfire Games is making a game called OverGrowth, and it looks awesome. Also, preorders will receive the beta when 500 fans sign up on their FaceBook Page. Interview after the jump!

As a lot of us heard recently LBP had a massive recall due to a particular track within the game that was apparently very offensive... at least SCEA and Media Molecule thought so. I thought to myself if it truly that bad then let us listen to this hateful music to this warm fuzzy game...Enjoy.
