Not content with making pornos on the big screen, Seth Rogen is now aiming his smut towards television. The actor-writer is developing a show for Showtime with his writing partner Evan Goldberg about three people in their 20s who learn about love and life while running a porn store.
We don't know yet if Rogen is going to star in it (unlikely given his full plate with movies, but maybe he can play a small recurring character), though neither he nor Goldberg are writing it. Instead, they're currently working on the comedy Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse, about Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel as roommates bickering with each other as the apocalypse is going on outside their apartment. The pilot is being scripted and exec produced by first-time writer Matthew Bass, who was an assistant to Rogen and Goldberg on Superbad and Pineapple Express. I guess he was a really funny assistant? The project is still untitled at the moment, and no cast or director announced yet. This sounds like something right up Kevin Smith's alley, actually. What's he up to besides struggling to get Red State made? Maybe he can direct the pilot.
