This week, those sketches make a return, but this time with their real counterparts. All the news media are talking about Sarah Palin's appearance last night, but it was honestly not as funny as Mark Wahlberg's. His cameo references a comment he made earlier this week on Jimmy Kimmel about how he was offended by the impression and that he wanted to beat up Andy Samberg. Backstage last night, Wahlberg sought out Samberg to confront him about last week's sketch, and this happened:
See that, Sarah Palin? That's how you do self-depecration. Palin's segments were awkward, and obviously had more to do with making an appearance on a popular show than a desire to make fun of herself (either that or she just doesn't know how to do comedy... McCain's cameo earlier this year was much better). Even Alec Baldwin, GREATEST ACTOR IN THE WORLD, had trouble not telegraphing his discomfort. It was worth it just for this Amy Poehler rap, though.
